Executive Office Case Study

Introduction

Our agency won a highly competitive tender and was entrusted with the critical task of translating the Official Gazette of the General Secretariat of the Executive Office in Abu Dhabi into English. This gazette contains all the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, making it a cornerstone document for legal and governmental affairs in the country.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to accurately translate complex legal terminology and concepts while maintaining the precise meaning and intent of the original Arabic text. The translation needed to be not only linguistically accurate but also legally sound, as these documents would be referred to by international businesses, legal professionals, and government entities.

Solution

We assembled a specialized team of legal translators with extensive experience in UAE law and government documentation, as well as legal experts to edit and review the final translations.  

Our approach included creating a comprehensive legal glossary specific to UAE federal laws; implementing a multi-stage review process involving legal experts and linguists; maintaining close communication with the General Secretariat to clarify any ambiguities; and ensuring consistency across all documents.
