When Tabeer embarked on its journey two decades ago, we could not have fully foreseen the expansive path that lay before us. Much like the legendary explorer Ibn Battuta, whose travels spanned the known world, our own trajectory would lead us far beyond our initial horizons, connecting cultures and languages across continents.

This year, as we mark our 20th anniversary, we reflect on a voyage that began with a singular vision and evolved into a global mission.

Our first steps were marked by a profound recognition: the critical need to elevate Arabic content. In those nascent years, the landscape of Arabic communication was often characterized by literal translations and a mindset that struggled to adapt English concepts for local audiences. This frequently resulted in content that lacked nuance, cultural resonance, and ultimately, impact. Tabeer was founded to address this very challenge, driven by a passion for language and a commitment to authentic expression. We became pioneers, the first agency to be registered with the Dubai Economic Department as dedicated content developers, a testament to our early commitment to shaping this vital field.

As fate would have it, the project that truly launched Tabeer in 2003 and made everything possible was a permanent exhibition at the iconic Ibn Battuta Mall. This landmark project, steeped in the spirit of exploration and cross-cultural exchange, served as a symbolic beginning for our own odyssey. It was here, amidst the architectural and exhibition’s tributes to global travel, that Tabeer solidified its purpose: to connect narratives and foster understanding. Words connecting cultures.

From that foundational experience, our work began to travel. Our expertise, rooted in culturally intelligent content and linguistic services, found resonance first within the Emirates. From Dubai to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah. Each new engagement deepened our understanding of regional nuances and strengthened our resolve to deliver communication that truly spoke to its audience. This regional growth was not merely an expansion of services; it was an organic extension of our core philosophy, proving that authentic content transcends geographical boundaries.

Soon, our journey extended further afield. We crossed borders into Oman, Qatar, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing our unique approach to a broader MENA audience. Our reputation for precision, cultural sensitivity, and impactful communication preceded us, opening doors to new partnerships and more complex challenges. We learned to navigate diverse regulatory landscapes and cultural expectations, always with the goal of empowering our clients' voices.

The world, however, beckoned beyond the Middle East. Our work, driven by the universal need for clear and culturally appropriate communication, began to cross oceans. From our offices, we collaborated on projects that reached into the heart of Europe, connecting with clients who sought to engage Arabic-speaking markets with integrity and insight. Then, our influence stretched to the bustling metropolises of New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. These distant shores, once merely points on a map, became vibrant hubs where Tabeer's expertise in bridging cultural divides proved invaluable.

This global footprint, much like Ibn Battuta's extensive travels, was not about conquest but about connection. It was about understanding, adapting, and ensuring that messages, whether for academic institutions, research bodies, marketing campaigns, or cultural initiatives, resonated deeply and authentically. Our two decades have been a continuous learning experience, a testament to the power of human insight combined with linguistic mastery.

As we celebrate this significant milestone, we do so with immense gratitude to our clients and partners who have entrusted us with their narratives. Tabeer's journey, from a pivotal project in a mall named after a great explorer to a global agency, is a story of unwavering commitment to cultural awareness.
